Sparkling Wave, of Sunderland

On the 8th March, the barque Sparkling Wave, of Sunderland, was stranded, and afterwards became a total wreck, on the South Scroby Sand. It was blowing a heavy gale of wind at the time.

The Birmingham No. 2 life-boat went quickly off, and after great difficulty suc- ceeded in rescuing 15 men and the ship's dog, and in afterwards landing them in safety..
