On the 8th April, the sloop Richard, of Goole, was stranded, during a strong N.E. gale, on the Nest Sands, about half a mile from Blakeney Harbour. She at once showed signals of distress, which were promptly replied to by the Brightwell life-boat putting off and saving the crew of 3 men from the wreck..
