Oscar, of Tonsberg

On the 19th Sep- tember, the brig Oscar, of Tonsberg, was stranded, and afterwards became a total wreck amongst the rocks a short distance from St. Andrew's Harbour, during a strong easterly gale. The St. Andrew's life-boat was quickly launched, and rescued with some difficulty the vessel's crew of 8 men.

They had to drop, one by one, into the sea, whence they were hauled into the life-boat..
