Resolutions Passed at the Annual Meeting for 1869

1.—Moved by the CHAIRMAN :— 1.—That the following Noblemen and Gentlemen be the Officers of the ROYAL NATIONAL LIFE-BOAT INSTITUTION for the current year:— (vide last page for this list,) 2,—Moved by Admiral Sir GEORGE SAR- TORIUS, K.C.B., Vice - Admiral of the United Kingdom. ; Seconded by the Right Hon. The EARL PERCY, M,P.

2.—That the Report now read be adopted, printed, and circulated.

3. — That this Meeting acknowledges with thankfulness the noble and successful work which is performed by the Life-boats of the NATIONAL LIFE-BOAT INSTITUTION in saving so many of our fellow-creatures from an un- timely and melancholy end. And further recognizes the imperative duty of aiding the Institution to maintain, in a state of thorough efficiency, its large fleet of 200 Life-boats, which saved last year alone no less than sis hundred and three persons from various shipwrecks on the coasts of the United Kingdom.

Seconded by Vice - Admiral J. B. B. McHARDY. • ! 4.—That the thanks of this Meeting be I given to the Board of Trade for the im- portant and cordial aid they continue to afford to the Institution. Also to the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, and to the Officers and men of Her Majesty's Coastguard service, for their continued valu- able assistance to the Society, 5.—Moved by Capt. The Hon. 5.—That this Meeting tenders its cordial thanks to THOMAS BARING, Esq., M.P., F.R.S., F.P., the Chairman; to THOMAS , CHAPMAN, Esq., F.R.S., F.P., the Deputy Chairman to the Committee of Manage- ment, and to the Officers of the Institution, for the admirable manner with which they continue to administer its important affairs.

Also to the honorary Local Committees of ' the several Branches of the Institution, and ! to our coast boatmen and fishermen, for their zealous and valuable co-operation.
