3. — That this Meeting acknowledges with thankfulness the noble and successful work which is performed by the Life-boats of the NATIONAL LIFE-BOAT INSTITUTION in saving so many of our fellow-creatures from an un- timely and melancholy end. And further recognizes the imperative duty of aiding the Institution to maintain, in a state of thorough efficiency, its large fleet of 200 Life-boats, which saved last year alone no less than sis hundred and three persons from various shipwrecks on the coasts of the United Kingdom.
