Blanche Moore, of Liverpool

On the 26th May, the Gertrude life-boat on this station put off, and succeeded in rescuing the whole of the crew of 36 men, belonging to the ship Blanche Moore, of Liverpool, which was totally wrecked during a strong wind and squally weather on the Long Bank, off Wexford.

Had it not been for the prompt services of the life-boat, many of the poor fellows must have perished, as at daylight on the follow- ing morning the vessel was seen to be full of water, and had settled down on the sands..
