On the 12th August, during a strong wind from the N.E., a pilot coble was seen in distress off this place, the crew being afraid to cross the bar in the very heavy sea running at the time. The Brightwell life-boat quickly went to their assistance, and, after taking off the crew of 3 men, towed their craft safely over the bar.
