The Screw Steamer Ocean Queen, of Newcastle

About 1-30 A.M., on the 19th April, the weather being thick and foggy, signals of distress were observed from a vessel on the rocks off this place.

The Whitby life-boat Lucy was soon launched through a heavy surf, and suc- ceeded in reaching the vessel, which proved to be the screw-steamer Ocean Queen, of Newcastle. The life-boat took off 15 per- sons, including the captain's wife, and brought them safely ashore.
