Rob Roy of Sunderland

On the night of the 12th January the steam-tug Hob Boy, of Sunderlaud, ran ashore on Whitburn rocks. On the alarm being given, the Whitburn life-boat was promptly launched through a high surf, and succeeded in rescuing her crew of 4 men and 3 other merchant seamen who were on board her.

The vessel shortly after broke up.
