Barbara of Hopeman
On the llth March the sloop Barbara, of Hopeman, sprang a leak, and split her fore-staysail, in a heavy gale from the north. She accord- ingly ran for the sands to the eastward of Lossiemouth, when the life-boat of the In- stitution stationed at that place proceeded to her and took off her crew, 3 in number.
The vessel herself shortly after became a total wreck.
