On the 7th October the brig- antine Arion, of Workington, coal laden, ran aground on the bar ofi' Dundalk, the wind blowing a gale from the eastward at the time, with a high sea running. The Dun- dalk life-boat was at once launched and pro- ceeded to her, taking off her crew and landing them in safety. The brig afterwards became a total wreck.
