Resolutions Passed at the Annual Meeting for 1862

1.—Moved by The Right Hon. the LOED MAYOR, and carried unanimously,— 1.—That the following noblemen and gentlemen be the officers of the Institution for the current year:—(tscfe last page for this list) 2.—Moved by Vice-Admiral the Right Hon. the EARL of HARDWICKE, F.P, Seconded by WILLIAM TITE, Esq., M.P.

Supported by Sir J. V. B, JOHNS-TONE, Bart., M.P., and WrnuAM BANTISQ, Esq.

2.—That the Report now read be adopted and circulated.

3,—Moved by MONTAGUE GORE, Esq.

Seconded by EDWABD GRIMWADE, Esq., Mayor of Ipswich.

3.—That this Meeting, having heard the very satisfactory Report just read of the continued success attending, the proceedings of the NATIONAL LIFE-BOAT IHSTITOTIOK, pledges itself to use every effort to maintain and extend the truly philanthropic and national operations of an Institution which has rendered such signal services to the cause of hntnamty, by means of its large fleet of lifeboats and otherwise, and which is year by year taking sach deep root in the sympathies of the British Nation.

4.—Moved by Capt. Sir EDWARD PEBBOTT, Bart., F.P.

Seconded by Vice - Admiral C. CATOK.

BEETIK 4.—That the thanks of this Meeting be tendered to the Lords of the Committee of Privy Council for Trade, and to the Marine Department of the Board of Trade, for the important and cordial aid afforded by them to the NATIONAL LIFE-BOAT INSTITUTION.

Also to the Commodore Controller-General, the Deputy Controller-General, and the Officers and men of Her Majesty's Coastguard service, for their continued valuable assistance to the Society.

5.—Moved by 6. J, CGCKBKELL, Esq., Sheriff for London and Middlesex.

F, MAOOE, R.N., and replied to by THOMAS CBAEMAH, Esq., F.R.S., F.P. • 5.—That this Meeting tenders to cordial thanks to THOMAS BABore, Esq., M.P., F.R.S., F.P., the Chairman; to THOMAS CHAPMAN, Esq., F.R.S., F.P,, the Deputy- Chairman; and to the other Members of the Committee of Management, for the care and attention with which they continue to administer the important affairs of the Institation.

Also to the honorary Local Committees of the several Branches of the Institution for tbeir zealous co-operation with the Central Committee in promoting the efficiency of the Life-boat establishments intrusted to their superintendence aad management.
