On the 9th February, the schooner William, of Morecambe, was driven ashore in a terrific gale, near Arklow. The life-boat at that place was launched, and with great diffi- culty, owing to the force of the wind, suc- ceeded in rescuing the schooner's crew of 5 men, and landed them in safety.
