Oa the 8th of April the brigantine Cebufg, of Whitby , ran ashore in an E.8.E. gale* afear Bridlington Quay.

The Bridlington life-boat belonging to the NATIONAL LIFE-BOAT INSTITUTION was immediately launched, and proceeded to the aid of her crew. After getting alongside the wreck) a heavy sea struck the boat, and breaking the lines fey which she was at- tached to it, seat her adrift again.

A second attempt was more successful, when she took off the crew, 5 in number, and landed them to safety. The vessel shortly after became a complete wreck.
