At midnight, on the 25th of July last, the smack, Ann and Catherine, of Barmouth, stranded on the bar off that place, the wind blowing a gale from W. S. W. at the time. At 2 A.M. the Barmouth life- boat, belonging to the National Life-boat Institution, was launched and succeeded in rescuing her crew of three persons, and in bringing them safely to the shore. The life- boat was reported to have behaved very well on the occasion.
