A motor fishing boat had shown distress signals, but was towed in by a tug.

MAY 16TH. - HASTINGS, SUSSEX. A raft had been reported off St. Leonard’s Pier, but it was found to be part of a hatchway probably from a ship that had been attacked.

OCTOBER 10TH. - AITH, SHETLANDS. A distress signal had been reported, but a long search, in which a naval vessel and a Sunderland aeroplane took part, was without result.
