An aeroplane had come down in flames in the sea, but nothing could be found either by the life-boat or by aeroplanes. - Rewards, £7 12s.

AUGUST 31ST. - EASTBOURNE, SUSSEX. Bombing aeroplanes had collidedin mid-air, but nothing was found by the lifeboat.

A rescue boat rescued one airman and picked up some bodies. - Rewards, £14 1s. 3d..

FEBRUARY 10TH. - SKEGNESS, LINCOLNSHIRE.

Two aeroplanes, a bomber and a fighter, had collided, and some airmen who had baled out came down on land, but no one was found in the sea. - Rewards, £10 19s..

DECEMBER 11TH. - FILEY, YORK-SHIRE. A British Halifax bombing aeroplane had crashed into the sea, but her crew were saved by a Filey fishing boat. - Rewards, £24 4s. 6d.

MARCH 3RD. - BLYTH, NORTHUMBERLAND.

An unknown steamer had been reported heading for rocks east of the harbour, but she seemed to get clear and then was lost in the darkness. - Rewards, £14 9s. 6d.

The No. 2 Life- boat Civil Service No. 1 was launched at 1.40 P.M. on the 31st January, in re- sponse to a message received from the Coastguard stating that a large steamer had stranded on the Girdler Sands.
